Questions

Patio questions.

Is it slippery around the pool?

Not with the grit. Every outdoor floor gets anti-slip aggregate in the clear coat, and around pools we use a heavier grit than in garages.

Will it get hot underfoot?

Lighter blends like Sonoran Sand and Salt Flat stay noticeably cooler in direct sun than dark ones. On a covered patio it’s about the same as the concrete it replaces.

Can you go over cool deck?

We grind the old cool deck or acrylic off first, fix the cracks, then coat. Going over it is how outdoor coatings peel.

What about the cracks at the control joints?

We fill them flush and grind them smooth so the flake runs straight across. If the slab moves later and a crack reopens, we fill it once, free.
