Questions

Flake floor questions.

How long does a flake floor last?
For as long as you own the home, if the slab was ground right. The clear coat wears in the tire lanes over ten to fifteen years, and a fresh clear coat brings it back for a fraction of a new floor.
Will flakes come loose?
Not on a full broadcast. We throw flake until the base coat can’t hold more, scrape off the loose ones and lock the rest under the clear coat. Flakes coming loose is covered by the warranty.
Can you do it in one day in July?
Yes, that’s why we start at 6:30. The flake is down before the garage hits 90, and the clear coat goes on after lunch. If the slab is over 90 at sunrise, Lena moves you to the next morning, free.
What about the stem walls and steps?
Stem walls up to 8 inches are included and coated to match. Steps are $95 each, and this month they’re on us with any 2-car or bigger floor.
How do I clean it?
A dust mop, a leaf blower or a hose. For oil and tire marks, a soft brush and a mild degreaser. No acids, no citrus cleaners left sitting.

“Crew was in the driveway at 6:25. By 5 that afternoon I was standing on a floor that looks like a showroom. Parked the truck on it the next morning like they said.”

“Three bids. Two of them wanted to acid wash. First Light was the only one that brought a grinder and explained why. Price was right in the middle.”

“Lena texted me the night before with a 6:30 to 7 window and they were there at 6:40. That alone put them ahead of everyone else I talked to.”

“I used the flake picker on the site, sent it with the quote, and that’s exactly what showed up on the floor. No surprises on the invoice either.”
