The story
Twenty years on Valley concrete, one year at a time.
Nate starts on a concrete crew pouring garage slabs for Valley home builders, at 19.
Builders start offering “epoxy garages.” Nate finishes the slabs, then watches half of the coatings peel within two summers. Same reason every time: no grind.
First Light starts with a used grinder, one trailer and Lena on the phone. Floor number one is a 2-car in Dobson Ranch. It still looks new.
Hector Ruiz comes over from tile and stone and takes the grinder. Starts move to 6:30 to beat the summer heat.
Jace Tran joins as crew lead, and the second trailer means most floors are booked inside two weeks.
Two crews, one shop near Falcon Field, and Nate still walks every floor before the crew leaves.
