Pick your flake
Throw the flakes yourself.
Pick a blend, then press and hold on the floor. That’s how we do it: by hand, until the base coat can’t hold one more chip. Then the clear coat goes on.

Hold the button, or hold the space bar while it has focus, to throw flakes onto the floor until it’s covered. The clear coat goes on by itself.

The install day
Why we start at 6:30.
Heat cuts a coating’s working time in half. So from May to October we’re on your slab at first light, and the flakes are down before the garage hits 90. Drag the sun across the day.

Walkthrough and tape
Nate walks the slab with you, marks every crack and tapes the walls. Your car is out, the door is up.
Nate walks the slab with you, marks every crack and tapes the walls. Your car is out, the door is up.
A walk-behind grinder takes the top off the slab, down to clean, open concrete. The shroud and the HEPA vacuum keep the dust out of your house.
Cracks get a polyurea filler, flush and ground smooth. Stem walls get the same prep as the floor.
A tinted polyurea base goes down, and we throw the flake by hand until the base can’t hold one more chip. Before the garage hits 90.
The loose flake comes up, the floor gets scraped smooth, and we vacuum every corner twice.
A UV-stable polyaspartic clear coat, rolled out by hand, with grit in it if you asked for it.
Socks only tonight. The tape comes off, Nate does the final walk with you, and you get the warranty in writing.
Twenty-four hours after the clear coat, the car goes back in. Shelves and heavy boxes the same day.
Epoxy, polyaspartic or polyurea?
The question on every estimate.
Most kits and low bids are plain epoxy. It’s cheap, it takes a week to cure, and it yellows and lifts in an Arizona garage. Here’s how the four systems compare.

The warranty
Fine print first.
A “lifetime warranty” means nothing until you know what it leaves out. Here’s ours, both columns, before you ever sign.
Covered for as long as you own the home
- Peeling or lifting, anywhere, for as long as you own the home
- Hot tire pickup, the Arizona summer kind
- Yellowing or clouding of the clear coat from the sun
- Flakes coming loose
- Our crack repairs opening back up
Not covered, said up front
- Brown tire stains from some tire brands (a chemistry problem, not a peel; we’ll show you how to lift them)
- Gouges from dropped tools, jack stands or a dragged trailer
- Brake fluid or paint stripper left sitting for hours
- New cracks from the slab moving later (we’ll fill them once, free)
- Water pushing up from under the slab, if you skipped the moisture primer after a high test

Reviews
What the neighbors said.
“Crew was in the driveway at 6:25. By 5 that afternoon I was standing on a floor that looks like a showroom. Parked the truck on it the next morning like they said.”
“Our kit floor from the builder was peeling right where the tires sit. Nate showed us why, ground the whole thing off, and the new one hasn’t moved through a full summer.”
“Three bids. Two of them wanted to acid wash. First Light was the only one that brought a grinder and explained why. Price was right in the middle.”
“The metallic floor under my cars is the first thing anyone mentions now. Two and a half days, zero dust in the house, and they moved the lift posts back exactly.”
“Lena texted me the night before with a 6:30 to 7 window and they were there at 6:40. That alone put them ahead of everyone else I talked to.”
“Our covered patio used to be too hot to stand on barefoot. The lighter flake and the grit made it usable again. Grandkids run on it all day.”
“I used the flake picker on the site, sent it with the quote, and that’s exactly what showed up on the floor. No surprises on the invoice either.”
“Did the floor and the cabinets and racks the next week. Nothing touches the ground anymore and my wife can finally park in there.”

The owner
I’m on every job.
“I finished slabs for builders for twelve years, and I watched coatings fail on half of them. Always the same reason: somebody skipped the grind to save a morning. I started First Light so there’d be one crew in the Valley that never does. I walk every floor before we leave, and my cell is the number on this site.”
